All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through
the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to
a son, and they will call him Immanuel"
--which means, "God with us."

CALL TO WORSHIP
Listen! Someone stands at the door and knocks! Someone calls and asks to come in.
Like the beat of our hearts, we recognize that knocking,     we know that voice, that call.
If we hear that voice, and open the door, the One who calls will come in!
Open the gates! Fling wide every door! Come, Lord Jesus, with your  love and light!
Listen, Jesus has promised to share a meal with us, to share a meal as friends.
To eat with Jesus is to be changed, to be transformed from enemies into friends.
Lord Jesus, come into this moment, into our hearts and lives. Stay with us; eat with us; make our hearts an open door to you and to all you are calling to yourself this day.
