Announcements
January 31, 2010:

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner - Tuesday, February 16 - 5:30-7:30 PM.

February Trumpet Newsletters are available for pick-up.

Haiti Emergency Fund - Envelopes are available in the lobby if you would like to contribute to the Haiti Emergency Fund. Make checks payable to TUMC, memo "Haiti" and place in the offering. 100% of offerings given to this fund, administered by The United Methodist Church, supports emergency relief. See www.umc.org/haiti for information on mission teams and response efforts.

Health kits are requested from individuals or groups that want to contribute basic necessities. Please bring in your kits by next Sunday, Feb. 7. See reverse for list of items.

Health Kits -
UMCOR requests that the following NEW items be placed in a sealed one-gallon plastic bag:

1 hand towel (15" x 25" up to 17" x 27". No kitchen towels.
1 washcloth
1 comb (large and sturdy, not pocket-sized)
1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards or toenail
     clippers)
1 bath-size bar of soap (3 oz. and up)
1 toothbrush (single brushes only in original wrapper,
     no child-size brushes)
6 adhesive plastic strip sterile bandages
$1.00 to purchase toothpaste (in an envelope)

Because the emergency kits are carefully planned to make them usable in the greatest number of situations and strict rules govern product entry into international countries, UMCOR requires that the kits contain only the requested items - nothing more. Bring your items to the church and the Missions Committee will handle the shipping.

We have received 43 health kits so far and will send the last shipment on February 7.

Mission Opportunity - Work Camp - We are organizing a group to participate in the Step by Step program (Western NC Conference-UMC) the first week in May.  Contact Mike Woodward for more information.  This is the same place that we went last year.

Church Membership Directory - A new membership listing will be available in the next few weeks listing church members with addresses, phone numbers and emails. Please call or email the church office (office@orrvilletrinity.com) if you would like to have any information omitted from the directory.

2010 Budget - Copies of the 2010 Trinity United Methodist Church Budget are available in the church office.
