May 9, 2010:

United Methodist Women Mission Dinner on Tuesday – see Marilyn Schaffter or Sue Corfman.

Love Offering collection in box at welcome center for Rachel Gadfield. Rachel has been a wonderful nursery attendant for the past 2 years. Today is her last day.

Mission Opportunity -  Orrville Friendship Meals needs 4 people to help serve and clean-up on Thursday, 5/20 from 5:15 to 7:00 PM at The United Church of Christ, 314 North Main Street. Please sign-up on the sheet in the narthex or call the church office or Shirley Sheller.

Volunteers Needed -to run the video camera once every 4-6 weeks; photographers to help document the life of the church and gardeners to keep the garden areas around the church planted and maintained.  Call the church office.

Mission Trip – Redbird – Mike Woodward has made contact with a group from Iowa that have planned a trip to Red Bird this fall.  It will be the week of Oct 31 – Nov 6 at Beverly, KY.  Registration deadline is May 15. Please sign up in the lobby or call Mike Woodward if you have any interest.

It’s Time to Play Golf – Orrville Trinity Golf League starts its seventh season on May 19th.  Greens fee is $10, $6.50 for half a cart a week plus a one time $10 league fee. A get ready to golf picnic will be held at John and Jackie’s house on May 16th at 5:00 pm. Contact John Morris for more information.  

UMW Spring Banquet - Today is the last day to order tickets for the banquet on Tuesday, 5/11 at 6:30 PM. Speaker is Carl Dulin who will share about his daughter's missionary work in Armenia. Adults are $6, children are $3.

Mission Trip - Redbird - Mike Woodward has made contact with a group from Iowa that have planned a trip to Red Bird this fall.  It will be the week of Oct 31 - Nov 6 at Beverly, KY.  For those of us who have gone to Henderson Settlement, the week schedule is the same with Wednesday being a free day.  This would give team members a chance to visit the Joy Center and other places of interest in the conference area.  The cost for the week is $280 which covers meals, housing, and supplies. A fundraiser will be planned to cover some of the cost. We will be finishing up building projects and winterizing homes.  Some may work in the store and help with other projects.   Registration deadline is May 15. Please sign up in the lobby or call Mike Woodward if you have any interest.
