Shrove Tuesday, also know as Fat Tuesday, is typically the day on the Christian calendar right before fasting for the Lenten season begins.

Shrove Tuesday also has the nickname Pancake Day, because those preparing to fast for the next 40 days had to find a way to use up ingredients that would go bad in that time.

In some cultures, have used their ingredients to make doughnuts. Fasting during Lent is mean to remove distractions, so you can draw closer to God, and seek His will for our lives as we prepare to celebrate His ultimate sacrifice of giving us His son, Jesus, to die for our sins.

As a result of this tradition of Shrove, or Pancake Tuesday, Trinity UMC has turned this celebration into one of our most successful youth fundraisers. Last year, we out did the prior year with double the attendance! This year, we can only imagine what sort of attendance we will have.

Remember, all proceeds from this event will go towards current and future youth and family mission trips.
