Rev. Dave's Blog: June- The Economics Of Contentment
Open Heart. Open Minds. Open Doors.
Rev. Dave Kowaleski's Blog
Rev. Dave Kowaleski shares a monthly word of inspiration for the congregation.
What things in your life are you satisfied with? What things in your life are you dissatisfied with?
It seems that these are good questions to consider in today's world and economic climate.
The discovery of contentment in our lives is a quality that God desires us to find. Paul seems to have found that quality in his life as we read his words in Philippians 4:11-13. He says, "... I have learned to be content with whatever I have. I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me."
What did Paul discover that led him to such a state in his life? Can we find that same contentment?
I invite you to join me this summer in a timely and inspirational video series entitled Enough. This study explores what Scripture teaches about financial management. Its purpose is to help us step off the consumerism treadmill and find joy and contentment that comes from a more focused and generous way of living.
This series will begin Sunday, July 18, immediately following the 9:30 AM worship service and run through Sunday, August 15.
Contact the church office (330-682-1806) if interested so we are able to order the proper amount of materials. I hope you will be able to join me for what will be a time of discovery and contentment for life.
