“Snow Angels” were seen throughout the land during our mighty-white winter season. Whether we were happy or not with the white freeze, it’s for certain that angels were out.  Many used their brawn, blower, snow plow, car or shovel, to help their neighbors.   Impressions were left as real as those snow angel impressions we used to make as kids, lying in the snow, moving arms and legs. (I’ll have to ask the young ones if they still do that.)   So… thanks to all you genuine, human snow angels for serving the community and our Lord.  You were winter wonderful Good Samaritan Snow Angels!  By the time this March Trumpet issue is in your hand, you will have forgotten, but those you helped will not forget.   Little green plants will be popping up everywhere. It will be Lent season, a serious and special time of prayer awaiting Resurrection Day with the promise of new life and growth.

Speaking of growth, all small groups experience growth, one way or another. When we first commit to be in or lead a small group it can be a little intimidating because it will stretch us out of our comfort zone.  But, growth is exciting while status quo is no growth.   A growing baby in the womb is something to rejoice about.  It never leaves our heart and mind, even though every pregnant mom feels quite uncomfortable.
Is fasting comfortable?  (All the people say “No-o-o! But we fast during Lent and the results are very Go-o-d.”)    Most of us are not instructed by God to do a 40 day complete food fast and should not, but all can fast something and growth will come out of our obedience.  It may become a major step forward; it is growth.

Small group growth?  Studying God’s Word strengthens us tremendously.  I confess that I neglect it but am delighted to be in a group that keeps me committed to study.  And study brings ….new growth.  Watch out!
Studying to “Make Love Last a Lifetime”?  That’s a no brainer!  Your children, grandchildren, and lineages to come will thank you.  (Will it be uncomfortable?  Maybe, maybe not, but well worth it.)
Relaxing, fun fellowship, like “Dinner and a Movie”, is also healthy for mind, soul and body.  It gives a needed chance to unwind with old friends and make new acquaintances.  Throw in some Holy Spirit theology and see what happens.

*If you have not joined a small group yet, that’s okay.  Just let me know your interests and remember:  It’s just spring and we’re only budding.  The full grown plant will have many beautiful blossoms.
