2010 Stay-At-Home Work Camp A Success!
100 People. 17 Projects. 4 Days. 661 Hours Worked.
This what all a part of the first Stay-At-Home Work Camp at Trinity United Methodist Church, October 11-14, 2010.
More that 100 members of the church took part in this amazing week of service, completing 17 projects in Orrville and Wooster. Volunteers prepared food, cleaned, painted and did yard work. Other crews installed new windows & doors and built a closet and car port. All week, volunteers took time out of their scheduled to help others.
Thank you to all who supported this mission giving time and financial resources. Without your support we would not have been able to accomplish so much in our community!
"Actually being God's hands, having people say we are answering their prayers, working side-by-side with people that just needed help, it was wonderful," said Sharon Kowaleski. “On the church’s end this was a well planned project that everyone could participate in.”
Instead of the usual trip across the country, the church planned this work camp to help our community.
Those who were the recipients of work done say they are thankful to live in a community full of people who care.
"Thanks to the mission team, our windows are brighter to see God's world, our gutters will no longer overflow and our flower beds are ready for winter snow," said Bob & Suzanne Steiner. "God bless all who helped in any way. We are grateful recipients."
Trinity plans to do a similar stay-at-home work camp each year.
